Hi! My name is Anne Field. I have been sewing and crafting for about 25 years. I was very lucky that my mother taught me to sew when I was very young. I have been collecting horses since I was 8 and started making dolls about 3 years ago and I have been having a great time with it! I have made almost 150 dolls (as of 10-14-09) and enjoy trying new things. A little more than a year ago I got into performance showing and I am a total performance junkie now. I will do a bit of halter showing if that is my only option but performance will lure me to a show.
I recently got married to my best friend, Ethan. We were friends for about 5 years then dated for 10 years and decided now was the time for it to be official. People used to ask me why I would date a friend and I said because I already knew I liked him. After all this time we still find new things to talk and laugh about. We have 2 kids, Elecktra who is 11 and Travis who is 9. We also have a rescued Pitbull named Abby. There is never a dull moment in our house. Both the kids love horses though Ethan doesn't. One day he may come around. Elecktra collects models and has gotten into showing a bit as well. Travis takes therapeutic riding lessons and loves to hang out with horses.
I have loved horses as long as I can remember. I took lessons a bit for awhile, lead trails at the public riding stables for years and now I volunteer at the Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association. I discovered while volunteering for the PVTRA that I really enjoy just being around horses, even if I don't get to ride. I also enjoy helping people ride who would not be able to if I wasn't there. I host a live model horse show every August and we usually try to raise money to support the PVTRA.
Besides horses and dolls I love reading and being outside. I could spend hours hiking in the woods with the family and the dog, riding when I can and I have a new love for sailing! Ethan and I went to Newport on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. One of the things we did was take a sailboat tour of the harbor. It is a lot different than a power boat and (depending on where you are sitting) more fun. I can't wait to go again. I also have an enduring love for weddings. My Dad told me that after my wedding was over there would be a bit of a letdown. So far I have not had that (though I have a lot less stress) but I have been thinking of writing a humorous book about the things I have learned about planning a wedding. I have also been thinking about doing some wedding planning.
